BERLINALE: WHEN THE TREES FALL SELECTED IN THIS YEAR’S PANORAMA PROGRAMME

The Programme for Berlinale Panorama 2018 has just been released with pleasant news for LATIDO.

WHEN THE TREES FALL (Koly padayut dereva) will have its world premiere on this year’s Berlinale. The film directed by Marysia Nikitiuk will be part of Panorama, well known for its seek for diverse, unfamiliar and artistic films.

Exploring the fluid boundaries between reality and fiction, this dark fairy tale encompasses the frightening and enchanting experiences of three generations of women.

In a godforsaken post-Soviet village, Larysa has fallen in love with Scar, an attractive young criminal. After he heads to the city, she will be forced to follow the traditional life she has always refused. However, Vitka, her 5-yearold rebellious cousin, holds a secret that can change everyone’s destiny.
