Thanks to the movie LULLABY for which she received almost all possible prizes, including the Goya for Best Actress, Laia Costa has become the most fashionable actress in Spanish cinema. Here, in Elena Trapé’s third film, she plays the role of a dramatic character that has many points in common with others she has played so successfully before: a millennial mother who feels lost, in search for herself. The landscapes of la Vall Fosca are among the most beautiful ones in the Pyrenes and play a key role in the film.
SYNOPSIS
Irene is a woman in her thirties with a four-year-old daughter who has just separated from her husband and cannot find her place in the world. Determined to get by at whatever cost, she flees to a remote village in the mountains to try to rebuild her life, with the help of the lush vegetation, omnipresent nature and legends around her there.
