Gerardo Herrero is one of the most prestigious European producers, winner of the Oscar for THE SECRET IN THEIR EYES and the Golden Palm for THE WIND THAT SHAKES THE BARLEY. As director, he has twenty films to his credit, including this one. Here, he adapts for the big screen a successful tragicomedy of the same name by Argentinian playwright Matías de Federico, in which the tension keeps increasing non-stop. The dialogues, poignant, cutting, full of double and triple meaning, play a key role, and the six actors perform brilliantly, each of them bringing to life in the best possible way the different characters – all of whom represent a distinct social archetype.
SYNOPSIS
Three married couples undergoing therapy are summoned by their female psychologist to a meeting. The psychologist won’t be attending the reunion herself, but she will give to them instructions about what they must do. Thus, to the sound of a horn (literally), the six protagonists will gradually air their dirty laundry concerning their relationships and bring up issues like taking care of the kids, the different home tasks, money, jealousy and sex, until it all leads to a most unexpected and equally shocking end.
