❤️ WHY WE LOVE IT ❤️
Juan Miguel del Castillo reteams with Natalia de Molina (Berlinale ONE YEAR, ONE NIGHT) after their Goya Award winner FOOD & SHELTER. Adapted from a bestselling novel and settled in the mesmerizing city of Cadiz (where surprisingly for the first time a major film is shot) not only the beauty that attracts tourists is shown but also the flipside with the underworld running in its port and outskirts. A true noir full of misleading clues, revenge, corruption and bold decisions for the sake of honor while keeping a view on human conflicts related to pasts that cannot be left behind. In case you ever wondered what it would look like if Cristian Mungiu had directed an episode of THE WIRE.
SYNOPSIS
Inspector Manuel Bianquetti is forced to accept a transfer to a police precinct in the south of Spain. His initially peaceful move will soon take a turn when the body of a young girl who reminds him of a terrible past is discovered. Despite the opposition of his superiors, Bianquetti sets out on a solitary crusade to find the culprit, following clues that might be just figments of his imagination. The only person on his side seems to be his neighbour, a fragile nurse who is harassed by her former partner.
